Isle of Wight event recommended by critic
Mon 23 Aug 2010
An upcoming event set to be held on the Isle of Wight has been recommended by a national newspaper critic.
According to Jolyon Attwooll of the Daily Telegraph, the British Powerboat Festival is one of the five most noteworthy events happening in the next week or so.
It gets underway on Wednesday (August 25th 2010) and runs until the 29th of the month.
"This annual festival of horsepower in the water features an international line-up of more than 50 boats surging through the waters around the Isle of Wight," she noted.
The journalist added that the Royal Navy will also be giving a helicopter display during the event, while other attractions on offer for those visiting the Isle of Wight in the coming week include live music and on the final night, a fireworks display.
People heading to the Isle of Wight for a holiday this week can also check out a performance of the pantomime Aladdin at the Ventnor Winter Gardens during their time on the island.
