Details of Rhythmtree 2013 revealed

The Isle of Wight has become famous for its major music showcases in recent years, with Bestival and the Isle of Wight Festival both enjoying a great deal of popular success and acclaim while attracting numerous top acts to the area.

However, the island also hosts boutique, smaller festivals that can offer visitors a different kind of experience from their larger counterparts.

One such event is the Rhythmtree World Music Festival, which is set to take place from July 19th to 21st 2013, and is often described as the Isle of Wight's warmest and most friendly music event.

In the build up to last year's edition, organiser Gerry Priddle told the Isle of Wight County Press that Rhythmntree is a highlight of the island's social calendar for many people.

"People of all ages who attend will have a great weekend and hopefully dance to some of the most upbeat world music performances to be found at any event," he added.

The 2013 festival will mark the fourth year that the island has hosted the gathering, which will once again be held at the Three Gates Farm, which is located on the scenic west coast.

An eclectic line-up is planned, with confirmed acts including Simo Lagnowi's Electric Jabala, Son of Dave, Madou Toure and the West African Blues Project, Soothsayers and the Monster Ceilidh Band - a cross-genre folk act known for their exciting live show.

More bands are likely to be announced in the coming months as details for the 2013 event are finalised.

Early bird tickets are available for £70 until January 31st, with prospective attendees urged to book soon in order to avoid disappointment.

Camping is free with a week-end ticket, and Rhythmtree offers tents and tipis to those who wish to sleep under the stars at the friendly festival.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801503832-ADNFCR
