Walking trip recommended for Isle of Wight tourists

Tourists heading on Isle of Wight holidays have been advised to take on one of the island's popular walks during their time on the island.

According to an article for the Suite 101 website by Frank Smith, the Isle of Wight is one of the best places in the UK for hikers to take a break due to the number and the variety of available trails.

He recommended people try out the Isle of Wight coastal path, which travails the 65 miles of the island's coast.

Mr Smith said walkers could break up the walk by staying in bed and breakfasts hotels during their Isle of Wight holiday and claimed it should not be too much of an exertion.

He added that the "natural beauty" of the island can be enjoyed by people taking on the challenge.

The UK's largest walking event will be coming to the Isle of Wight at the start of the summer, when the Isle of Wight Walking Festival gets underway on May 7th 2011.
