Isle of Wight holiday can feature Hendrix walk

People taking Isle of Wight holidays this summer can go on a walk looking into the history of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix during their break on the island.

The annual Isle of Wight Walking Festival, which takes place from May 8th-23rd 2010, features the three-mile trip, which begins at the Hendrix Garden at Dimbola Lodge, Freshwater Bay.

Walkers on Isle of Wight holidays will then travel to the site where the famous 1970 Isle of Wight Festival was held, an event which included performances by Keith Moon, Jim Morrison and Hendrix himself.

The trip, which will take place on May 14th, also includes a chance to see the permanent festival exhibition at Dimbola.

Around 15,000 people attend the Isle of Wight Walking Festival each year, with more than 250 guided walks held over the sixteen days of the event.

One of the most popular walks of the Isle of Wight Walking Festival is the Tiger Trail, which includes a guided tour of the island zoo's collection of big cats, before a stroll to Culver Down. ADNFCR-3083-ID-19733474-ADNFCR
