William and Kate 'may have had Isle of Wight holiday'
Mon 9 May 2011
Prince William and his bride Kate Middleton could have enjoyed an Isle of Wight holiday as a short honeymoon following their wedding at Westminster Abbey last month.
This is according to a report by the Isle of Wight County Press, which claimed to have been contacted by locals who had spotted the happy couple on the island.
It is thought the pair may have stayed in the Priory Bay Hotel, Seaview, during their Isle of Wight holiday, but owner Andrew Palmer would not confirm or deny the rumours.
"We have had celebrity visitors here because the hotel is quiet and tucked away and not everyone likes being splashed across the papers," he said.
Mr Palmer noted that famous faces enjoy Isle of Wight holidays at his hotel as it is quiet.
A spokesperson for the royal family had previous stated Prince William and the new Duchess of Cambridge would not be going on honeymoon as the groom was returning to work.
