Wayne Levin UK debut in Freshwater

Internationally acclaimed photographer, Wayne Levin, is holding his first UK exhibition on the Isle of Wight. If you're hoping to dip your toe in a bit of culture this weekend then look no further.

Levin, who specialises in marine-life images, has displayed his collection at Dimbola Museum and Galleries in Freshwater Bay.

'Through a Liquid Mirror' takes the viewer through a series of remarkable underwater landscapes from Hawaii, Costa Rica and Micronesia.

Originally from Los Angeles, Wayne graduated in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1979. The artist has travelled all over the world to display his photographs and make new studies of whales, dolphins and stunning scenes.

Having honed a love of photography from a very young age, he has a stunning collection of images to showcase in the all-new exhibition.

The artist, who works mainly in black and white, was given a Brownie camera by his father when he was 12 years old, along with a pack of film he could develop all by himself. He spends much of his time ocean diving to get the best shots possible.

His latest exhibition has photographs chosen by the artist and exhibition manager, Kimberley Piggott.

Wendy Lesser, editor of The Threepenny Review, deeply praises Levin's work: "By photographing points of contact between the manmade and natural world, he explores the complicated relationship between humans and captive marine life, and the peculiar draw of life below the surface."

Freshwater Bay is famous for its great surfing and many of Levin's pictures show jaw-dropping surf-scenes that have delighted locals.

Don't miss this beautiful display where there truly is something for everyone. Why not head down to the beach at Freshwater Bay and take your own sealife snaps.

Adult tickets cost £4, with children under 16 going in free of charge.

Open for a short time only, the exhibit closes on June 2nd. Get down there fast for a dazzling day that will really open your eyes.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801592429-ADNFCR
