Tim Burgess 'would travel to Isle of Wight'

Tim Burgess, the lead singer of the indie band The Charlatans, has stated he would choose the Isle of Wight as a place to spend his last hour alive.

Speaking to the Quietus, he explained he would like to use his last minutes listening to the album Train above the City by alternative rock group Felt.

Burgess told the website he would be at William Treend's house with Martin Duffy - a keyboardist who previously played with Felt and is now in Primal Scream - and the pair would be "meditating" while the record played.

"It's a Lawrence vocal-free album, which makes it weirder, but it's a beautiful record and I am sure Lawrence was around to witness the magic and name the songs," said Burgess.

The singer - who has also recorded solo albums - has enjoyed a raft of hit singles during his time in The Charlatans, including The Only One I Know and North Country Boy.
