Isle of Wight trip 'a great day out'

Osborne House has been recommended as a "great" day out for tourists who are booking Isle of Wight holidays for this summer.

The location is famous for being one of the favourite places of Queen Victoria to go on a break from her duties and was checked out by 30 members of the Bridport and District University of the Third Age earlier this month.

According to a report published by View Online, chair of the group Jenny Malyon-Roberts thanked Lesley Archibald for organising the trip to the Isle of Wight.

She added the visit to Osborne House - which is also famous for being where King Charles I was once held prisoner - was "perhaps our best one yet".

As well as the stately home itself at the popular tourist attraction, those who book Isle of Wight holidays may wish to take a picnic in the grounds of Osborne House, as this is a good way to spend an afternoon of a break on the island.
