Isle of Wight hotel 'is in its prime'
Tue 7 Sep 2010
More people may be tempted to book Isle of Wight holidays after a hotel on the island was described by a review in a national newspaper as being in its prime.
Fiona Duncan of the Daily Telegraph visited Yarmouth's The George and explained that she has watched the progress of the island accommodation for more than 15 years.
She stated that the major improvement is the addition to the Isle of Wight hotel of a brasserie, which is larger than the dining room it replaced.
"It is also much improved food-wise, thanks to the arrival of Liam Finnegan, who previously worked with Michael Caines and has learnt a thing or two," she said.
The journalist added that The George works because of its "wonderful" location and the fact that its owners have updated it sensibly.
As well as being a great place to take an Isle of Wight holiday, The George could be ideal for executive meetings on the island due to its boardroom.
