Isle of Wight holidays 'offer creative fun during half-term'

Families taking Isle of Wight holidays during the coming half-term break will be able to find a range of creative activities in which to take part.

The Isle of Wight Council has highlighted Newport as an ideal destination for a school holiday excursion, as Quay Arts is to provide "a great choice of activities for crafty kids" from February 21st 2011 onwards.

Events will kick off with two hip-hop dance classes on the Monday before continuing with two Jewellery Days, a Clay Day and a Fast Food Animation Day over the course of the week.

The half-term workshops culminate with a free family drop-in session on February 26th that allows kids of all ages to create Chinese-style paper dragons.

Children must be accompanied by an adult for the event, which represents the perfect way to mark the Chinese New Year.

Quay Arts is the Isle of Wight's most prominent art gallery and venue for live events of this kind and is situated in a converted 19th century brewery next to the Medina river.
