Isle of Wight day trip recommended

Isle of Wight holidays could be set for a boost in popularity as a result of a recommendation from a national newspaper.

According to a report by the Guardian, the island is one of the best places in the UK to head to on a day trip.

It stated this is due to the fact a holiday firm has recently started offering stays in Airstream trailers, which may be appealing to tourists planning a summer break.

Visitors can start their trip in Ryde, Newport and Yarmouth and there are even pick-ups available on the mainland, with the journey said to race through Isle of Wight, Hampshire and Dorset via a range of transport methods.

Tickets are priced including a Sunday lunch, which may make it the ideal type of Isle of Wight holiday to embark on in the coming weeks and months.

The Isle of Wight Festival is set to attract tens of thousands of people to the island this weekend, with 50,000 tickets already sold according to organiser John Giddings, the Southern Daily Echo reported.
