Crafts at Home with What Knots this Easter

Families planning to head to the Isle of Wight on a getaway this Easter break might like to check out the Crafts at Home event that is set to be run by local crafts workshop What Knots.

Running on March 29th and 30th, as well as April 1st, Crafts at Home can be found at 2 The Cedars Madeira Lane in Freshwater and the attraction specialises in decorative knots and rope work, teaching visitors the intricacies and delights of creating stunning pieces using driftwood, rope and string.

Running from 10:00 until 16:30 GMT/BST, What Knots' workshops will provide people with the skills required to make a range of items, while families can also pick up a range of ready-made decorative items that have been put together by the skilled artisans at the centre.

Pieces on offer include rope butterflies, bangles, watch straps, bracelets and brooches, wine bottle covers, dog leads, covered walking sticks, dog toys, decorative knots and outdoor designs, as well as mats, bird feeders and much more.

The workshops promise to be great fun for individuals of all ages and are free to head along to. The centre also has disabled access and a gift shop for visitors.

Meanwhile, families hoping to get a taste of nature this Easter might like to visit Coleman's Farm, which was reopened for the spring, summer and autumn on Saturday (March 23rd).

The farm offers arrange of treats for families and children of all ages, including a traditional petting zoo, as well as a new Play Barn for 2013. In addition, the farm has benefited this year from extended picnic and pedal tractor park areas.

Also open daily from 10:00 until 16:30, admission to the farm costs £8.50 for adults, £7.25 for children and £28 for families (two adults, two kids).ADNFCR-3083-ID-801561964-ADNFCR
