Bee Walk to showcase local wildlife

Anyone heading to the Isle of Wight in the coming days who has an interest in insects might like to take part in the Newchurch Bee Walk.

Set to take kick off from Newchurch Parish car park at 11:00 BST and organised by bee-lover Ian Boyd, the walk will highlight up to 96 different species of bee that have been found on the island so far.

In addition, it presents the perfect opportunity for nature lovers to get out into the great outdoors and enjoy the splendour of the Isle of Wight and its natural environment in all its glory.

Lasting approximately two hours, the walk will showcase the myriad bees that make the Isle of Wight their home, with the little critters far too busy burrowing into the soft sandy ground to make new homes to be any threat to passersby.

Meanwhile, the Autumn Walking Weekend is another great attraction that could have individuals pulling on their hiking boots and venturing outside over the coming months, with visitors being encouraged to get involved when the event runs again from October 25th to 28th.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801603985-ADNFCR
