Isle of Wight Garlic Festival provides tasty treats in August

Hungry travellers might like to head along to this year's Isle of Wight Garlic Festival, which will be taking place next month and is sure to offer something to tickle the tastebuds of everyone.

Running from August 17th to 18th and now in its 27th year, the show promises to be a great day out for all the family, serving up a range of delicious garlicky treats for visitors to enjoy.

Stall holders from across the island will be showcasing their wares for hungry guests, including dishes from the award-winning Garlic Farm, as well as many items provided by local producers and artisans.

However, food and drink is not the only attraction to be found at the show in 2013.

A range of live artists will also be performing for the festival crowds each day, with Lucid, Madonna Show, the Beach Buoys and Secret Affair lined up for the Saturday, followed by Video Show, Lucid and the Beach Buoys (again), Ska'd for Life and Chesney Hawkes taking to the stage on Sunday.

Family entertainment also includes a bouncy castle and other rides for youngsters, as well as face painting, David Randini's traditional Punch & Judy show and talks on fossils from expert Martin Simpson.

In addition, the unmissable Titan - a gargantuan robot that will be interacting with festivalgoers - will also be on hand throughout the day to both enthral and terrify.

Admission will cost £8.50 for adults, £7.50 for concessions and £5 for children aged five to 15 years old. Kids under five can get in for free.

Located just outside of Newchurch, the festival is taking place against the rolling hills and beautiful scenery of the island. Getting to the site could not be easier, as it is on the Newport to Sandown Road (A3056).

It is one of the biggest summer attractions on the Isle of Wight and is certainly something visitors in the area will want to check out over the coming weeks.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801619295-ADNFCR
