Juliette Lewis hails band ahead of Isle of Wight gig
Wed 24 Feb 2010
Juliette Lewis has lifted the lid on what music lovers at the Isle of Wight Festival can expect from her this summer.
The musician used to lead a group called Juliette and The Licks, but they broke up and Lewis now performs with The New Romantiques.
According to the punk rocker, The Licks had been known for playing a "pretty straight up-and-down, rock beat, rock riff kind of music".
However, Lewis has revealed her new band is much groovier and ventures into other areas such as psychedelia.
"There's blues
much more space and dynamics, which really creates a theatrical live show," she commented.
Speaking to LiveDaily, Lewis added that she is "very proud" of her new band, as well as her latest album Terra Incognita.
She will be play the Big Top alongside an eclectic mixture of female acts at this year's Isle of Wight Festival, including Daisy Dares You, Marina and the Diamonds and glam rocker Suzi Quatro.
