Isle of Wight Festival ticket prices revealed

Music lovers looking forward to next year's Isle of Wight Festival have been told how much they will have to pay for their tickets for the event.

Although passes have not yet gone on sale for next summer's festival, the people behind the event stated tickets will be £185 for adults.

Students who want to go to the Isle of Wight Festival and have an NUS card will be able to get their ticket for £10 less than the price for adults.

Infants under the age of six will be able to get access to the Isle of Wight Festival can get in for free, although parents will have to get a ticket for them in advance.

Children between the ages of six and 12 will pay £92.50 for their tickets and this also covers the camping for the event.

Families with young children could therefore see the Isle of Wight Festival as the ideal way to start their summer, with the event set to take place from June 13th to 16th 2013.

Those who want to take campervans to the event will have to get the relevant pass for the festival and this will cost them £100.

Parking for the event costs £15 for the four days of the weekend, while those who are only planning to spend a day at the Isle of Wight Festival will have to pay £10 for the day to park.

With details of ticket sales yet to be revealed by the organisers of the Isle of Wight Festival, they have asked individuals who are thinking of going along to keep an eye on the event's official website, as well as its Facebook and Twitter account.

"Full details of when, where, how and our payment plan will be posted soon," they said.

This year's Isle of Wight Festival was deemed by the organisers to have been a success, despite the fact that the island was hit by bad weather for the course of the weekend.

Many of the UK's major festivals were also affected by heavy rain and wind due to the poor summer much of the country has experienced this year.

But festivalgoers are a hardy lot and with the right clothing and footwear, revellers can continue to have a great time regardless of how wet they are going to get during the weekend.

Acts such as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Pearl Jam and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers thrilled tens of thousands of music lovers over the course of the festival.

In a message posted on the Isle of Wight Festival after the four days of music and partying had come to an end, the organisers noted it had been difficult because of the bad weather.

"Thursday was difficult for us with the car parks turning into mud very quickly even with our preparations in the run up to the festival," they said, adding: "It has been an incredible weekend of music and I hope you have enjoyed it. See you again next year."

Those who are planning a pair of trips to the Isle of Wight for music festivals next year can already get their tickets for Bestival, which takes place on the island in September.

Organisers of the event have frozen prices at their 2012 levels for the early bird period, which is already underway, with passes currently available for £180 for adults who want to arrive on the site on the Thursday of the weekend.

Individuals preparing to get to Robin Hill Country Park on the Friday of the event will pay £10 less, while children aged 12 or under are given free access to the site, as long as a ticket is obtained in advance by their parents.

Teenagers pay £120 for their tickets to Bestival on the Isle of Wight, while students who have NUS or ISIC ID can get access to the festival on the Thursday for £170.
