Isle of Wight Festival beach 'bigger than ever'

The organiser of the Isle of Wight Festival has confirmed the event will have a bigger beach than ever before this weekend.

John Giddings noted individuals who head to the Isle of Wight to attend the festival each summer want to feel as though they are on holiday and the beach is a great way to achieve this.

It is sure to be one of the most popular parts of the festival site and is expected to be filled with people around the clock.

"Our audiences like to have a good time. Our very own beach on the festival site is back and bigger than before - a beach by day and a massive party by night," Mr Giddings said, adding it will help attendees to celebrate the arrival of the summer.

Real deck chairs and beach balls have been imported to the Isle of Wight Festival site in order to help revellers to feel as though they are relaxing in the sunshine somewhere special.

The organiser added there is sure to be something for everyone at the Isle of Wight Festival this year, with a vast array of acts taking to the main stage over the course of the weekend.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Pearl Jam and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have been named the headliners of the event, but pop acts such as Jessie J will also be performing.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Biffy Clyro and The Vaccines add more of a rock tinge to the biggest area of the site, but Madness, Tinie Tempah, Labrinth, Big Country and Example are among those bringing something different to the party.

It was recently confirmed by the Isle of Wight Festival organisers that all of the available camping tickets for the event have sold out.
