Elbow to unveil new track at Isle of Wight Festival

Music fans travelling to the Isle of Wight Festival this weekend are in for a treat, as one of the country's biggest rock bands are going to be debuting a new track at the event.

Elbow, who recently won the Mercury music prize for their album The Seldom Seen Kid, will perform on the main stage of the festival tomorrow night (June 22nd) ahead of a headline show by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, who will play for a full two hours.

According to a report by the Daily Star, Elbow are planning to entertain thousands of revellers with a rendition of a brand new track during their set.

Keyboardist and producer Craig Potter told the news provider it is shaping up to be one of the biggest songs on their next album, which will be the follow-up to Build a Rocket, Boys!

"It's got huge guitars and it's quite psychedelic. I'm not sure if it's a future single, but it sounds the kind of song which will hopefully be a favourite at our gigs," he said.

Other tracks likely to be performed by the group during their show at the Isle of Wight Festival include old favourites Newborn and One Day Like This.

Potter explained the recording of Elbow's new album has changed as a result of each band member - apart from singer Guy Garvey - becoming a father in the last few years.

It means they are having to break up their recording sessions into "little moments" rather than booking a large period of time to do the LP all in one go.

Other acts set to perform at the Isle of Wight Festival this weekend include Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Jessie J, Madness, Biffy Clyro, Feeder, Example and Tinie Tempah.
