Welcome to the Isle of Fright

With Halloween fast approaching, now is the time to book a trip to one of the UK's scariest locations, the Isle of Wight.

Considered by many to be among the most haunted places in the country, the island has developed a global reputation as a great place to go for scares. It's not called Ghost Island for nothing.

With such a haunted heritage to delve into, there are unsurprisingly some great events going on in and around October 31st, that are sure to leave all the family jumping in terror!

Whether it's amazing ghost walks, paranormal investigations, ghoulish fancy dress or delightfully devilish fancy dress, there's something for everyone to sink their teeth into, no matter how young or old.

In Newport, you'll be able to participate in Spooky Quay week between October 30th and November 2nd, dates that conveniently fall during half-term.

Kids will be able to revisit the Harry Potter films on the big screen, while there will also be fancy dress workshops and terrifying arts and crafts sessions, where you'll be able to make your own toads and creepy-crawlies.

Meanwhile, Carisbrook Castle will also be putting on the scares, with plenty of creepy crafts and spooky activities for the young ones as part of its Spooky Castle event. You'll even be able to help your little ones hunt some ghosts and the event runs daily from October 26th until November 3rd.

To get a real sense of the Isle of Wight's haunted history, it's recommended you take a ride on the Halloween Ghost Island Bus Tour. This open-top bus will take you around the island once the sun has set. As you visit various destinations, you'll be chilled by terrifying stories of ghoulish ghosts, grisly murders and all sorts of terrifying things!

Setting off from Newport Bus Station at 8pm, the tour takes approximately two hours to complete and runs daily from October 28th until 31st.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801653071-ADNFCR
