Visit the Isle of Wight for Halloween fright

With Halloween just a few weeks away now, mums and dads across the country are sure to be searching for ways to keep their children entertained throughout the festivities.

One good option appears to be heading to the Isle of Wight, where a number of events have been lined up for the amusement of families. Indeed, there is plenty of fun to be had in the south of England, much of it on the island.

For starters, there is the Haunted House Spooktacular, which is set to run from October 26th to 30th at the historic Appuldurcombe House. The news source noted that visitors will need nerves of steel if they are to avoid being scared on a ghost walk through the woods or a trip to the graveyard.

That is without even mentioning the spooky encounters that organisers have planned within the dungeons, rooms and cellars of the old home.

Alternatively, a good way to spend an Isle of Wight holiday is to head to Ghosts and Ghouls at Carisbrooke Castle between October 27th and November 4th. This event provides a chance for kids to enjoy themselves with seasonal crafts and frightening activities, including a trail around the grounds of the castle.

And the third option is Wizard Week at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, which will open on October 29th and lasts until November 2nd. It is said that there is plenty of fun to be had at the festival, including rides on steam trains, wizard shows and the chance to get up close and personal with owls and other birds of prey.

It seems for those families in the UK who really wish to enjoy a spooky and memorable Halloween, there might not be another holiday option like the Isle of Wight this autumn.
