The Bees announce Isle of Wight show

The Bees have been confirmed as the opening band for this year's V-Bay Festival on the Isle of Wight.

According to local news source VentnorBlog, the Isle of Wight band will be the star attraction at the event, which gets underway on October 21st 2010 at Ventnor Winter Gardens.

It will not be the first time the group has played on the island this year, as they took to the stage at the same venue earlier this month to showcase tracks from their upcoming fourth album.

They are perhaps best known for their hits Wash in the Rain and Chicken Payback and the announcement of the October gig may persuade fans to book Isle of Wight holidays to see them play the hometown show.

V-Bay Festival finishes on October 24th with a charity tug-of-war taking place on the beach at Ventnor, while other highlights of the event are likely to include the Isle of Wight Pirates air sea rescue demonstration.
