Keen walkers may wish to book Isle of Wight holiday

Walking is an activity that many people enjoy on holiday, both as a form of exercise and also as a relaxing and peaceful way to see much of their destination.

Whether it is a city break or a rural retreat that is on the cards, scheduling plenty of walking will help tourists to enjoy an authentic experience of the land on which they are staying. Perhaps nowhere is that more true than the Isle of Wight, which lends itself ideally to walking.

Its relatively small size means those on foot can visit every corner of the island easily enough, taking in its beautiful beaches, quaint villages and lush countryside en route.

Later this month, those opportunities will be even greater, as the UK's largest walking event is due to come to the area. The Isle of Wight Walking Festival runs from October 26th to 29th and features more than 60 different routes.

What's more, the paths have been designed with people of all ages and abilities in mind, so no matter who is interested in an Isle of Wight holiday at this time, they can be confident that there will be a walk that is just right for them and their party.

Programmes for the event are now available and feature a rundown of all the routes that are on offer. Taking a look at this document prior to arrival on the Isle of Wight might be a good move, as it will allow people to target the treks they feel are right for them.

With the marathon taking place this weekend and the walking festival little more than three weeks away, it is an incredibly sporty time for the island and its inhabitants, so they are sure to provide a friendly welcome to all those who join them this October for a festival of fun and fitness.
