Brian May to speak at Isle of Wight wildlife event

Queen guitarist Brian May has been confirmed as being on the list of speakers at an upcoming event being held on the Isle of Wight.

The rocker will be in attendance at the Isle Of Wight's 7th Annual Wildlife day, which is set to take place on Saturday (September 22nd).

May, the Save Me founder, tops the list of speakers lined up to appear at the event, which is set to run from 10:00 to 19:00 BST at the Riverside Centre, The Quay, Newport.

Visitors to the Wildlife Day, including those who are going to be on Isle of Wight holidays this weekend, will be able to take part in a range of activities on the day, while there will be plenty of stalls and refreshments available.

This year's Wildlife Day is being organised by the League Against Cruel Sports, which was established in 1924 and campaigns and lobbies to make a difference both in the UK and all over the world.

Children will be catered for with animal face painting, while there will also be competitions and a chance for attendees to have a closer look at animals including bats and hedgehogs.

Presentations will be given by organisations including League Against Cruel Sports, Isle of Wight Bat Hospital, World Society for the Protection of Animals, the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals, British Marine Divers Rescue, Humane Society International and The Badger Trust.

Among the bodies confirmed as having stalls at the Wildlife Day are Compassion in World Farming, Isle of Wight Hedgehog Rescue, Pedigree Cat Rescue, New Forest Group and Friends of the Animals.

Chief executive of the League of Cruel Sports Joe Duckworth is on the list of speakers set to take to the stage on the day, along with executive director of Humane Society International UK Mark Jones and Mark Sanders-Berwick, a volunteer with Sea Shepherd.
