Ryde to host new contemporary craft fair

The beautiful seaside town of Ryde already has plenty of aspects to boast about, with its stunning 19th century architecture on the seafront and, of course, Ryde Pier. But the arrival of a new contemporary craft fair will give it one more reason as to why it's the perfect place to spend Easter this year.

Expect plenty of stalls showcasing quality ceramic tableware, magical handmade books and prints, sculpted fine porcelein and a plethora of other beautifully handmade items - all of which are made by Isle of Wight locals.

The handmade jewellery created by Ventnor-born Lauren Griffiths also promises to be something special - particularly as a gift for yourself or that hard-to-buy-for relative.

A number of the artists involved will host special 'open studio' demonstrations, just in case you're looking at their stalls and wondering how on earth the mastery is achieved.

Besides the craft fair itself, which is called Make or Break, there will be a number of children's activities that are useful for keeping the little ones busy if you're worried about dragging them around the stalls for too long.

These include Easter-themed storytelling and family workshops that everyone can get involved in - all completely free of charge.

Granny's Cafe will be serving up some delicious cakes, treats and traditional afternoon tea if you fancy indulging the foodie within, and the Easter Bunny may well be putting in an appearance for the children.

It's all happening from 10am until 5pm this Easter - April 18th and 19th - at the Depozitory on Nelson Street in Ryde.

With everything that's going on, it's a pretty unmissable event if you're looking for something memorable to do with the family. Why not book your ferry tickets now and make sure you make the most of a good weekend together?ADNFCR-3083-ID-801704415-ADNFCR
