Military museum to play host to Christmas market

Grab a unique gift on the Isle of Wight if you're planning a break there this December, and as the Military History Museum will be playing host to a bustling atmosphere, dozens of stalls and a healthy dollop of festive spirit as part of its annual Christmas market.

From December 1st until the 23rd, shoppers will be able to purchase high quality independently made arts and crafts for their loved ones, with local crystal salesmen, glass blowers and jewellers among those in attendance.

You won't find anything half as unique in the high street, and as you wander between the stalls in search of that perfect gift, you'll be treated to a variety of delicious smells coming from the food purveyors.

Once you're done shopping, it's time to check out the entertainment. Treat the children to a visit to Santa's Grotto where they can pick up their first toy of the season and request what they want to find under the tree on December 25th.

Those willing to try their hand at ice skating can purchase an adult ticket for £6, while children are charged at maybe del? £4 each. If you all want to have a go at looking silly on the ice together, a family ticket is just £18.

And of course, it wouldn't be Christmas without the traditional Dickensian high street. Enjoy a stroll past the shops, peering through the windows and examining the Christmas trees on display, before retiring to the heated garden for some hot food and a well-deserved rest.

The Military History Museum can be found on the main A3020 road between Newport and Cowes. Buses on the Number One route run every eight minutes during weekdays, with a Southern Vectis bus stop directly outside the grounds of the venue.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801657958-ADNFCR
