Isle of Wight used for filming of movie

The Isle of Wight has been chosen as a location for the filming of a new British movie.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels actor Dextor Fletcher is making his first film as a director - Wild Bill - and has been on the island with his cast and crew this month.

The picture, which stars Jaime Winstone and Andy Serkis, details how a father is reunited with his children after serving a prison sentence on the Isle of Wight, reports the Isle of Wight County Press.

Producer Sam Troman from 20ten Media stated that authenticity was the reason behind the island being used as a shooting location for the movie.

"The character is called Bill and when he gets out of prison, he is trying to get back home," he said.

"We have been doing a lot of filming around the Olympic Village in London."

Wild Bill has also been shooting in London for the last month, with other actors in the picture including Will Poulter, Liz White and Charlie Creed-Miles.
