Enjoy Bruce Bane on the Isle of Wight

Visitors to the Isle of Wight next month might like to head along to Quay Arts for a unique comedy experience, with live performances of Joe Bone's Bruce Bane series.

Taking place from May 16th to 18th at the Quay Arts Theatre, productions of Bane 1, Bane 2 and Bane 3 are being put on for audiences, with the shows described as "Die Hard meets The Naked Gun".

Each follow the exploits of international man of daring Bruce Bane as he embarks on a journey of revenge, all set to the unique compositions of music man Ben Roe. It is a one man/one musician show, with Bone playing all the characters and Roe all the music.

The show will be heading straight to the Isle of Wight from this year's Melbourne Comedy Festival, having picked up a slew of awards since its global debut back in 2009.

According to Time Out magazine: "Joe Bone's performance is phenomenal ... The real joy comes from the craftsmanship Bone has put in - there are some dizzying elaborate set pieces here ... extremely funny."

Admission to the Quay Arts performances will be £7 for both Bane 1 and 2, and £8 for Bane 3, while a ticket for all three shows can be purchased for £16. Doors will open each evening at 20:00 BST, but visitors are invited to head along to the theatre's bar from 19:00.

Other attractions that might tickle the fancy of culture vultures heading to the island in the coming weeks include Jackie Oates' new live show Lullabies, which is being held on April 18th and will examine the influence of the folk music scene on lullabies across the ages.

It is a departure from the norm for the award-winning singer-songwriter, but Ms Oates describes the show as a unique look into the impact of these songs from childhood on an adult audience.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801567395-ADNFCR
