Easter breaks can be fun-packed on the Isle of Wight

Anyone heading on an Isle of Wight getaway this Easter might like to head along to one - or more - of the varied events that are taking place across the island during the long bank holiday weekend.

Over-18s heading into Newport this weekend might like to check out one of the many party nights that are being put on at The Loft, with events organised for Friday (March 29th), Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Friday will see Club Stomp kicking off from 21:00 GMT and running through until 02:00. Entry will be free before 22:00 and £3 thereafter, with last admittance at 23:00.

Offering a variety of musical styles, ranging from rhythm & blues through to rockabilly, rock n roll and early soul, it promises to offer an eclectic night's entertainment and could be great fun for revellers.

On Saturday, The Loft will be hosting the TTNT Mix Sessions - an old school party featuring the skills of DJs Joz & Stretch, as well as special guests M.G.F Project. The same admission rules apply from the previous evening.

Things get shaken up a bit on Sunday though, as the venue will be hosting TC's Sunday Jazz Joint from 13:30 to 16:30, with an Easter special shindig being put together right now.

Details of the show include a performance by house band The Alleycats, with the five-piece playing a unique jazz-inspired set to round of the Easter weekend in style.

Entry for this event will cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, while kids under 16 will be able to get in for free.

Meanwhile, visitors hoping to see more of the island during their stay this weekend might like to head along to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway where a number of special events are also being planned.

Kids are able to ride the rails for free for the duration of the Easter period - March 28th to April 12th - and can also take part in the daily Easter Bonnet Parade, which takes place at 13:45 and sees children sporting homemade bonnets, with the best examples winning a prize.

The Isle of Wight Zoo is also holding a number of special attractions for visitors this Easter, including egg decorating classes, face painting sessions, an Easter egg trail - covering the whole zoo and open to kids of all ages - as well as offering a chance for visitors to Meet the Mascots.

Mr Tiger and Mr Lemur will be out mingling with the crowds throughout the Easter weekend, with visitors also being offered the chance to handle many of animals in the special Easter Animal Handling Zone.

A number of other Easter egg trails are also taking place across the island during the Easter weekend, with many of the events sponsored by the National Trust.

Visitors will be able to head along to Easter Egg-citement at Mottistone Manor Garden from 11:00 on March 31st, while Newtown National Nature Reserve will be holding their own Easter Egg Trail on April 1st at 10:00.

Blackgang Chine is another unique Isle of Wight attraction that will be celebrating Easter in style this year, with the family theme park putting on its Easter Eggstravaganza from April 3rd to 11th.

Families will be able to paint their own Easter eggs, visit a number of live shows - including the act of expert magician Aaron Istad who will be attempting a classic Houdini trick to wow the crowds - as well as enjoying a number of sweet treats in the centre's Chocolate HQ.

All in all, there are a wide array of events to keep even the most active of visitors entertained on the Isle of Wight this Easter.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801564517-ADNFCR
