Brian Blessed to open walking festival

Legendary actor Brian Blessed has been confirmed to open this year's Isle of Wight Walking Festival.

Set to get underway on May 4th, the event will include more than 250 organised walks taking in some of the most beautiful and interesting parts of the island, with the world famous actor to open the festival with a performance at the Medina Theatre.

He will be taking to the stage on the first Sunday (May 5th) at 19:30 GMT and will be treating the audience to tales of his exploits over the years, offering anecdotes on his many film credits, from Shakespeare to Flash Gordon.

Tickets are available to book now and visitors who head along to the show are sure to be enamoured by the raconteur. It is the second year in a row Blessed will be taking part in the festival and if 2012 is anything to go - he refused to leave the stage at one point - then it is a night not be missed.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801529136-ADNFCR
