Isle of Wight restaurants draw praise
Mon 1 Mar 2010
People taking Isle of Wight holidays may be tempted to eat out every evening after the island's restaurants were praised by a newspaper.
The Telegraph said the Isle of Wight contains a number of excellent places to eat, including the Hambrough in Ventnor.
Local news source VentnorBlog was especially pleased with this recommendation, although it noted that many "less obvious" places were also given the nod.
For instance, The Vine Leaf Cafe at the Rosemary Vineyard was highlighted as one good place to go for a meal.
The Taverners, The George and The Pond Cafe were also named by writer Nick Dalton in his article for the newspaper.
"He's certainly picked some great places to tempt visitors out to," VentnorBlog commented.
The Hambrough has already won a number of accolades in the last few years, including a seven out of ten rating in the Good Food Guide and a Michelin Star.
Prospective visitors are currently being encouraged to head to the restaurant on Mothers Day to sample its special menu for the occasion.
