Isle of Wight chippy serves up extra sauce
Fri 19 Feb 2010
People on Isle of Wight holidays may be keen to head to Cowes to sample some fish and chips with a difference.
Richard Quigley, the owner of fish and chip shop Corries Cabin, is handing out saucy postcards to his customers along with their bill.
The postcards have been designed by Isle of Wight-based artist Georgia Longford, who has taken her inspiration from postcards you might find in resorts such as Blackpool.
Mr Quigley said: "The idea was to feature the shop in the style of the old-fashioned seaside postcard - a little bit cheeky but fun."
Speaking to the Isle of Wight County Press, he revealed that he has been keen to promote the business in this way for quite a while.
He praised Ms Longford for doing a "fantastic job" on the postcards.
Two versions are already available, while more are set to follow in the coming months.
This comes during National Chip Week, a UK-wide initiative designed to celebrate the popular food.
