Rob da Bank hails Bestival's broad appeal
Thu 4 Mar 2010
The organiser of a major music festival in the Isle of Wight has expressed his delight at its broad appeal.
According to Rob da Bank, the man behind Bestival, the event has always proved popular with 18 to 25-year-olds in particular.
However, he noted that last year was slightly different, because even younger people headed to the Isle of Wight to enjoy the music on offer.
Speaking to eFestivals, da Bank attributed this partly to the eclectic range of artists on the bill.
He said youngsters had been drawn to acts such as La Roux and Friendly Fires, while older people enjoyed Elbow and Kraftwerk.
"I hit the nail on the head last year with what was our best line-up to date," da Bank commented.
He added that he is very pleased with this year's line-up at Bestival, which features acts such as LCD Soundsystem, Flaming Lips and Roxy Music.
Other artists on the bill include Rolf Harris, Ellie Goulding, Marc Almond and Delphic.
