More acts confirmed on Bestival bill

Music lovers who are getting excited to head to the Isle of Wight for this summer's Bestival event have even more acts to look forward to after more musicians were added to the bill.

Radio 1 DJ and colleague to curator Rob da Bank Zane Lowe is among the biggest names who are new to the line-up of the festival, which is taking place from September 6th to 9th at Robin Hill Country Park.

Beardyman is another star who has played regularly at Bestival in recent years and he will be back at the event in 2012, along with JJ Doom and Valerie June.

The new acts help to fill the void left in the bill at the event as a result of the cancellation of Frank Ocean, who has pulled out of performing at Bestival for the second year in a row.

"Three weeks to go and already Robin Hill and Combley Farm are buzzing with diggers, lorries, fence builders, set makers and arty type people wandering about with pencils waving at imaginary structures. I'm very, very excited," said the organiser of Bestival on the Isle of Wight Rob da Bank.

He added he is particularly excited to be able to announced that King Charles is going to be playing Bestival for the first time, noting this is an act he has wanted to book for a long time.

Random Impulse, The Time & Space Machine, Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, the Balearic Folk Orchestra, Daytona Lights, Bruno Charles, Isaac Danquah, The Golden Strands and Southern Man are among the others who are new to the bill for Bestival on the Isle of Wight.

Stevie Wonder is among the headline acts to be taking to the stage at Bestival this summer and he is joined on the line-up by acts as diverse as The xx, Sigur Ros, New Order, Two Door Cinema Club and Florence and the Machine.
