More acts added to Bestival bill

Music fans looking forward to Bestival on the Isle of Wight later in the year have been informed of the latest batch of acts to have been added to the bill.

Organisers of the festival revealed that B Traits, Leo Zero, Evian Christ, Frank Tope, Rev Milo Speedwagon, Pathaan, DJ Cable, Foam, George B and Sink The Pink are all going to be taking to the stage at the Grand Palace of Entertainment, a part of the site that is new for 2012.

Jamie xx is also going to be DJing at the Isle of Wight event, while The Nextmen and Julio Bashmore are playing as well.

Those looking for some chilled-out beats at the festival can check out sets by the likes of Dr Alex Paterson (The Orb), Pete Gooding, Chris Coco, Tom Middleton, Phil Mison, Mixmaster Morris, Pathaan and Tythe vs Mojo Filter at Bestival too.

It is not just DJs that have been added to the bill of the bash by the organisers either, as Tom Williams And The Boat, Valentine Gray, Cherishport and The Widowmaker are all playing, as well as Jamie N Commons, Clock Opera, Stealing Sheep, Nina Nesbitt, BIGKids, Mary Epworth, Wet Nuns, Dingus Khan, Anothers Blood, John Talabot, Lucy Rose and Kwes.

Bestival has one of the most appealing line-ups of any event taking place in the UK this summer and is being headlined by Stevie Wonder and Sigur Ros, while The xx, Friendly Fires, Hot Chip, Justice and Soulwax are also all heading to the Isle of Wight to perform.

The organisers of the festival revealed a famous face is going to be on hand for the whole weekend too, adding: "And back by popular demand is living legend Mr Motivator who will be helping Bestivalites shake off those fuzzy heads ready for another day of adventure!"

Meanwhile, curators Rob and Josie da Bank have revealed yet another of the new venues that is going to be making its debut at Bestival on the Isle of Wight this summer, with the Slumberave set to make sure ticket-holders can keep the party going long into the night all weekend.

Dubbed by the organisers of the bash as an "irresistibly twisted, spooky hotel", the location is set to play host to nocturnal party games such as Swingo Bingo and Pillow Fight Club that will be taking place there and attracting plenty of music fans looking to take some time out from the live acts.

But DJs are also going to be on hand at the venue to soundtrack what is sure to provide some of the most memorable moments of the weekend's activities on the Isle of Wight.

"Check in, if you dare, in the early hours and consort with characters ranging from the gothic to the insane; become part of the murder and mystery during the weekend at the haunted Hotel Slumbarave," noted a statement from the organisers of Bestival.

An alternative land of Bestival has also been revealed by Rob da Bank, who noted it is factors such as this that make the festival stand out from the other events taking place in the UK.

"Stages, tents, hidden nooks and crannies, jam-packed with polka, cabaret, striptease, cream teas, gay bingo, birthday parties, spoken word, freaks, circus, a live band playing inside a jukebox, illuminated night time ping pong, an arts salon and drag queen foodie demos… obviously!" he said, adding this creativity is what Bestival on the Isle of Wight is all about.

The Radio 1 DJ also announced Jess Mills, Clean Bandit, The Correspondents and Kill It Kid are performing at the festival, which is set to take place at Robin Hill Country Park from September 6th to 9th this summer.
