Fever Ray head to Isle of Wight for Bestival
Tue 16 Feb 2010
Fever Ray are to head to the Isle of Wight to perform at this year's Bestival event, it has been confirmed.
This will be the Swedish dance act's only UK festival appearance this year, so fans on the mainland might be tempted to book a ferry to the island to see them in action.
They will be joined at Bestival by indie act the xx, who will play on the Big Top stage.
Rob da Bank, the organiser of the event, has expressed his excitement, as he rates the xx very highly.
Indeed, he described them as his "joint favourite band" of 2009.
Mr da Bank added that Fever Ray, which is an alias of Karin Dreijer Andersson of The Knife, are an "audio-visual phenomenon".
"If you don't already own all the music get it now and get ready for September," he advised.
Bestival ticketholders are also set to be treated to sets from acts as diverse as Australian entertainer Rolf Harris, rising stars Delphic, The Flaming Lips and former Sex Pistol Glen Matlock.
