Bestival reveals arenas for 2012

Bestival on the Isle of Wight has revealed that two arenas are going to be returning to the Isle of Wight event later in the summer.

The festival takes place at Robin Hill Country Park from September 6th to 9th and preparations are well underway for the start of the event in a little under a month's time.

Curator and Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank announced that he is "chuffed" to be able to announce the return of Rizlab to Bestival in 2012, with two days of live musical action to take place at this part of the site.

Ninja Tune and Big Dada have been named as those in charge of the bill of this arena of Bestival and it is promised that they are going to be booking some "truly innovative, genre defying artists" to appear on stage over the course of the weekend.

Fans with Bestival tickets who are looking forward to the festival next month have also been given a sneak peek of what they can expect at the event, with an exclusive Letherette remix of Bonobo's track All In Forms available from the official festival website.

Bonobo will be headlining the Saturday night of the Rizlab arena at Bestival, while others such as Toddla T, Coldcut and Raf Daddy are also going to be taking to the stage during the event.

Raffertie, Slugabed and FaltyDL are among the others who have already been named on the bill for this part of the site and organisers will be adding more in the next few weeks ahead of the start of the festival on September 6th.

Big Dada will be the headliner in the Rizlab arena on the Sunday night of the event and he will be joined by El-P (live) and Sticky, as well as Roots Manuva and the Banana Klan Soundsystem, Beak> and Kwesachu over the course of the day.

"As ever, Rizlab have pulled a great bunch of selectors and live acts out of the bag and I know that the Rizlab stage is definitely gonna be a lockout from the moment it opens til the last airhorn runs out of gas on Sunday evening," said Rob da Bank.

For those who want to enjoy theatrical performances during their time at Bestival on the Isle of Wight, Arcadia's Mechanical Cabaret is likely to be the place to be.

DJs such as The Ratpack, Congo Natty, Foamo, Slamboree, JFB, Slipmatt, Stanton Warriors and Kissy Sell Out will be providing the tunes in this arena of the festival site, while Asbo Disco, DJ Die & Mc Inja, Rob da Bank, Wonka, Bertie, Shepdog and Heatwave are among those also on the bill.

Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank proclaimed Arcadia to be his favourite stage at Bestival on the Isle of Wight, so ticketholders who spend some of their weekend there may be likely to bump into the man himself partying away down at the front.

He explained he is a big fan of it due to the fact it is "always fiery and exciting and musically off the wall", while Pip & Bert of Arcadia Spectacular stated they are pleased to have been given the chance to return to the Isle of Wight to perform at Bestival again this year.

Many of the main music acts have already been confirmed for Bestival this summer and they include headliners such as Stevie Wonder, New Order, Sigur Ros and Florence and the Machine, with others such as The xx, Friendly Fires, Bat For Lashes and Miike Snow among those also taking to the stage at Robin Hill Country Park at the festival.

Soulwax, Justice, Too Many DJs, Ben Howard, The Horrors and Spirtualized are also on a bill that is sure to have something to meet every musical taste.

Tickets for Bestival are still available from Isle of Wight ferry operator Red Funnel.
