Bestival line-up 'to blow your socks off'

This year's Bestival is set to be one of the biggest Isle of Wight attractions, with thousands of music lovers descending on the island to witness performances by some of the leading pop artists in the world today.

Kicking off on September 5th and taking place over four nights, the festival promises to offer something for everyone, with 1970s superstars all the way through to the biggest names of 2013.

Elton John will be headlining one of the evenings, ably accompanied by his backing band. They will be banging out the hits from his extensive back catalogue, drawing on such classics as Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Daniel, Your Song, Nikita, Circle of Life, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, as well as showcasing a number of new tracks from his 2013 album The Diving Board.

Other artists that surely draw in the crowds at this year's festival include US rapper Snoop Dogg and indie heavyweights The Flaming Lips, as well as the Wu Tang Clan, Franz Ferdinand, Belle & Sebastian, Bombay Bicycle Club, Bastille, MIA and many more.

Nothing Compares to You singer Sinead O'Connor will also be gracing the stage at the festival for lucky audiences to enjoy, while former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr will be putting on a set to wow the crowds.

Great music is not the only attraction at Bestival, however, as festival organiser Rob da Bank aims to ensure the weekend is more of a cultural melting pot rather than simply being a big music-driven party - although it certainly is that too.

He commented: "Bestival has never just been about the music and over the last three years we've put huge focus on our spoken word, theatre and other worldly pursuits that don't involve loud music and raving.

"2013 will be our finest year yet with the best performers and spoken worders out there from Scroobius Pip and Kate Tempest to the Tongue Fu dudes, plus an incredible cinematic line up, theatre, comedy, our unofficial mascot Howard Marks and even an on the sofa chat with jungle and drum and bass legends."

Various tents and stages will be erected across the festival venue throughout the weekend, with visitors able to flit back and forth between the many attractions that will undoubtedly draw their attention.

The Temple Island Arena is another new addition that is sure to draw the crowds this year, with its offerings including cocoon sculptures offering an otherworldly experience for visitors brave enough to step inside.

Moreover, the arena will play host to some of the most beguileing acts of this year's festival line-up, including London Grammar, DJ Falcon and Karma Kid.

With more than 20 stages and 30 tents for visitors to choose from, this year's event promises to be one of the biggest and best ever - especially as the organisers recently announced the permitted capacity for 2013 has been raised to 80,000.

Adult tickets to this year's Bestival will cost £190 for access to the festival site from Thursday September 5th, while visitors wishing to get in for the weekend from the Friday will be able to do so for £180.

Teens aged 13 to 17 years old can purchase a weekend pass for £127, while younger children have free access as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.

Individuals wishing to book 'premium camping' in the Wild Copse can do so for £316 for adults and £158 for teens. Kids 12 and under will also be able to get in for free.

The Wild Copse offers its own private car park away from the rest of the festival crowds, while other perks include upgraded toilets and shower facilities, as well as a private seating and chill out area, plus an exclusive bar.

Parking for visitors in regular camps sites will cost £11 in advance or £15 on arrival.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801616341-ADNFCR
