Bestival launches brand new venue

Music fans getting excited about travelling to the Isle of Wight later in the year in order to attend Bestival will be able to visit a new venue at the event.

The organisers of the island-based festival have revealed that the Grand Palace of Entertainment is to be set up at Robin Hill Country Park for the first time, with a wide range of activities on offer for those who buy tickets for the September bash.

It was revealed that quizzes and games are going to be held throughout the day for those who like to get into the competitive spirit during their time at the event, with the curators of the location promising a high "fun factor" over the course of the weekend.

A range of prizes are going to be available for those who enter these games, with the gifts described by the organisers as "fabulously indulgent".

They added every afternoon of the event is going to see the palace converted into a retro children's birthday party, where revellers can go along to regress to the good old days and play pass the parcel and musical bumps.

Evenings will see the venue transformed into the host location for a range of alternative cabaret acts, with attendees warned to be ready to be "delighted" and "shocked" by the entertainment.

The curators said: "On the outside, it's a beautifully decorated traditional fairground facade. On the inside, it's a rainbow coloured pleasure-seeking twisted fun house."

Of course, live music is often the main reason why people book Isle of Wight holidays in order to go to Bestival and some of the biggest and best names to have been announced as playing at the bash include Sigur Ros, The xx, Friendly Fires, Soulwax and Hot Chip.

Other performing are Sister Sledge, Two Door Cinema Club, Justice, Bat For Lashes, Emeli Sande, Roots Manuva, Orbital and Death In Vegas.
