Bestival announces partnership with Rhythmtree

The organisers of Bestival have revealed details of a special collaboration with Isle of Wight world music event Rhythmtree this year.

A line-up of acts has been put together by Rhythmtree to appear on the Bandstage at Bestival on Saturday September 7th, the Isle of Wight County Press reports.

Performers will include the likes of AJ Holmes and the Hackney Empire, London Afrobeat Collective, Zee Guveya Heritage Band, Modeste Hugues and Isle of Wight-born folk singer-songwriter Martin Newnham.

Bestival boss Rob da Bank told the newspaper: "There's a lot of amazing music in this world and we only really ever hear a tiny amount of it, so I'm really pleased that the chaps from Rhythmtree have put together such a great line-up for our World Music Day."

Gerry Priddle, Rhythmtree organiser, described the collaboration as a "tremendous opportunity" to bring world music acts to the Bestival audience.

Running from September 5th to 8th this year, Bestival will also feature live performances from Elton John, Franz Ferdinand, Johnny Marr, Wu-Tang Clan and Jessie Ware.ADNFCR-3083-ID-801559824-ADNFCR
