Bestival 'stands out from the crowd'
Mon 6 Sep 2010
An Isle of Wight festival has been described as standing out from the crowd due to its boutique feel and fancy-dress spirit.
According to the Scotsman, Bestival's location on the Isle of Wight is also a major plus point, because the act of sailing across the Solent to the island allows visitors to leave their worries behind.
It added that the festival has also managed to retain a "unique, quirky" feel, despite the increased number of people taking Isle of Wight holidays to enjoy the Bestival experience.
Festival founder Rob da Bank told the news provider that the fancy dress element of the bash - this time it is billed as the year of the fantastic - has grown over the last few events.
"It's gone from a Saturday afternoon thing to people coming down on a Thursday evening fully togged out," he explained.
This year, The Flaming Lips headline Bestival - which gets underway on Thursday (September 9th 2010) - along with Rolf Harris, Dizzee Rascal, Roxy Music, Ellie Goulding and The Prodigy.
