I do not normally travel for work on the ferries. On this exceptional occasion on checking in for my outward journey I was given a food discount voucher as I was a Freight traveller. I appreciated this but wasted it on a coffee because I had a meal before I left home. On My return journey embarking at midday I thought I would have lunch on board using my discount voucher. My main complaint is with the food and service on board. There are too few staff, providing a slow inadequate service. The food served (breakfast in my case) was very poor quality and badly presented - slopped on the plate. My wife used the Steam counter - again only one person working, so very slow. Coffee was weak and watery - too economical with the amount of coffee used per cup.

First class English breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, light airy comfortable accomodation with great views of the solent and wi-fi worked well so I got my emails done.

When I was returning from Southampton I was gobsmacked of the young ladies attitude in the check in box for the 6pm sailing. I simply asked if I could get an earlier boat... on the website it was £2 cheaper. Before I had chance to make my decision she was waving the card machine in my face demanding I pay £5. I wouldn't mind paying the money if 1 it was demanded as I hadn't stated I defiantly wanted to get an earlier boat and 2 there was plenty of spaces on the boat it wasn't even half full.

The quality of the ferry was poor compared to Wightlink, little things like access to the cars was heavily congested and took ages to get to our cars. The online booking system is poor too and you can only modify a booking over a phone call (which takes ages to answer - I gave up). The outdoor seating on the ferry was closed (on a lovely evening), so I ended up standing the whole way home. I only booked with Red Funnel as I was given a discount voucher. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. However, the ladies toilets on the ferry were a disgrace. They were dirty and stank of old urine. I was appalled. Although the floors on the decks were being cleaned it smelt like they were being washed in dirty water. Hygiene was bad everywhere.

Very good service. Didn't have to get off or show any paper, they straight away recognised the customer through Reg No: very clean inside and good cafe.
Even better if there is same order to leave the ferry as the same order it arrive. We were in first 20 cars but we were quite late to leave ferry.
Also it is good if we were given a leaflet of main attractions with post codes.
It was a great time. We enjoyed lot. Thanks we will use your service again.

We have a dog, on the crossing out the only place you could sit with a dog was around 6' by 12', it was totally wet inside, it was cold, people had been smoking in it so there were butts all over the floor(despite the no smoking signs) which the dog had to lie on, it was a very poor experience and we felt like third class passengers. On the way back we were on the Red Falcon which had good facilities for dog owners otherwise it would of been 1 star.
