Isle of Wight bus services
Southern Vectis operate a comprehensive bus service serving the Island's towns and villages.
West Cowes
Frequent services operate between West Cowes and Newport (service 1) from where there are connections to other parts of the Island. Services connect with Red Jet Hi-Speed arrival and departures, stopping outside the West Cowes terminal in Fountain Yard.
Service 1
- Mon-Sat daytimes every 7-8 minutes
- Mon-Sat evenings every 15 minutes
- Sunday daytimes every 10 minutes
- Sunday evenings every 15 minutes
- Night buses every 30 minutes
East Cowes
There are regular services between East Cowes and Newport (service 5) and Ryde (service 4). During the summer there are special services which operate round the Island's towns.
Service 4
- Mon-Sat daytimes every 60 minutes
- Sunday daytimes every 60 minutes
- No evening services
Service 5
- Mon-Sat daytimes every 20 minutes
- Mon-Sat evenings every 30 minutes
- Sunday daytimes every 30 minutes
- Sunday evenings every 30 minutes
Round the Island
Open Top Bus Tours operate in three different areas of the island seven days a week, with regular departures throughout the day. Our open-top buses give a birds-eye view of the Island's hotspots, and a special commentary gives information about places of interest and the history and geography of areas along the way.

Day Rovers
Day Rover tickets are great value and can be purchased with ferry travel from Red Funnel.
They give unlimited travel on the Isle of Wight bus network. Go where you like, when you like, change buses as often as you like, wherever you like.
- Accompanied children under 5 travel free.
- Rover tickets are also valid on open top tours.
Collecting Bus Tickets
- Foot passengers: please go to the ticket office on arrival and your bus ticket(s) will be printed on presentation of your "Confirmation/eTicket"
What to give the Bus Driver
- Just show your credit card size ticket(s) to the bus driver.
