Getting to the Isle of Wight is really easy by air if you travel via the famous maritime city of Southampton on the UK's south coast. Once in Southampton you can travel by ferry to the Island with a vehicle or as a foot passenger.
Although there are no scheduled flights to or from the Isle of Wight, the airports in the south of England are within easy reach of Southampton by public transport (rail or coach) or by motorway if you hire a car.
From Southampton Airport (SOU) it is really easy to get to the city centre by public transport. On arrival at the train station you will find the free CityLink connecting bus service to the ferry terminals. There's also excellent transport links to Southampton from London Heathrow (LHR), London Gatwick (LGW) and Bournemouth Airports (BOH).
From London City (LCY), Luton (LUT) or Stansted Airports (STN) just catch a train into central London followed by a bus, tube or taxi to London Waterloo rail station from where there are frequent rail services to Southampton Central. Alternatively, there are regular coach services from Victoria Coach Station to Southampton.
Please note: You don't need a Passport or any ID to visit the Isle of Wight.
