The Passenger Vehicle Ferry service to East Cowes operates from Terminal 1 (Dock Gate 7) off Town Quay Road, Southampton.

The Red Jet Hi-Speed (passenger only) service to West Cowes operates nearby from Terminal 2 on Town Quay, off Town Quay Road, Southampton.

The City Centre is fairly compact and it is possible to walk within 15 minutes from the centre to either of Red Funnel's terminals.
 
Whether you are coming from the north, east or west, Southampton is easy to reach.

From the north
Exit the M3 at Junction 14 following the signs for M27 West and Southampton Docks.

From the west or east
Exit the M27 at Junction 3 (M271) Southampton West and Docks. Follow the brown English Tourist Board sign - WestQuay and Waterfront.

Continue to follow the sign marked Dock Gates 4-10 and brown English Tourist Board sign to WestQuay and Waterfront. Continue through one set of traffic lights, keeping to the outside lane. Bear right at a set of traffic lights on to the A33 and follow the signs to Dock Gates 4-8, WestQuay and Waterfront. Drive through a series of traffic lights until you reach the Mayflower roundabout with the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel on the left and the Holiday Inn on the right. Take the right hand lane, follow the sign marked Dock Gate 4 Waterfront, and you will find Red Funnel's Terminal 1 on the right, signposted Red Funnel Dock Gate 7.

For Terminal 2 (Red Jet Hi-Speed service) continue past Terminal 1 (Dock Gate 7) and turn right at the traffic lights in to Town Quay Marina.
 
The bus service within the city is extensive. The FREE CityLink Service (painted green) runs every 10 minutes between the rail station and Red Funnel's terminals via the West Quay shopping centre. Click here (104.3K) for public transport map.
 
There are a large number of licensed taxis (hired at the roadside) and private hire vehicles (must be pre-booked), some of which are suitable for disabled people. There are numerous taxi ranks in the city serving the transport interchanges, city centre, cruise ship and ferry terminals and district centres.
