Policy relating to the Carriage of Pets (effective from 11 Mar 06)
We welcome pets onboard our services but due to health & hygiene issues the following rules apply:-
PASSENGER VEHICLE FERRY SERVICE
Whilst there is no charge for the carriage of pets on the vehicle ferries, pets (other than Guide Dogs) are not permitted in the internal passenger areas of the vessel. Pets are allowed in the heated Conservatory Area on the upper deck.
Passengers travelling by car: it is recommended that pets are left inside the vehicle for the duration of the voyage. The ships crew patrol the ventilated car decks for the duration of the voyage but please make sure that your vehicle windows are left slightly ajar to aid ventilation.
Foot passenger: pets are only permitted in the enclosed Conservatory Area on the outer top deck of the vessel.
RED JET HI-SPEED SERVICE
A charge of £5.00 applies to the carriage of dogs on our Hi-Speed Service. Dogs must not be allowed to sit on seats or obstruct the emergency exists.
Pets must be carried in RSPCA approved pet carriers or restrained by a harness/collar and lead whilst on board, and kept on the floor in the Conservatory Area, not on the passenger seats. Owners are also requested to please ensure that their pet does not cause a nuisance to other passengers.
If a pet fouls the passenger accommodation, a cleaning charge of £10 will be levied on the owner. Failure to pay this penalty to the Onboard Services Officer/Cabin Attendant or adhere to the Policy may result in our refusal to permit travel in future.
To allow for 'calls of nature', customers are recommend to allow sufficient time to exercise their dog before boarding the ferry (there are suitable areas within a short walk of both ferry ports).
