2007 Cowes Powerboat Festival featuring the U.I.M. Powerboat P1 British Grand Prix

Glamour, prestige, top class motorsport and breathtaking action on the Isle of Wight, it’s the 2007 Cowes Powerboat Festival!
Taking place over the August bank holiday weekend, the Festival will provide spectacular racing with some of the top domestic and international championships in powerboat racing. This year will also see the ‘Round the Island’ challenge, taking place between Cowes and Thorness and in close proximity to the shoreline. This gives the opportunity to see Europe’s most highly powered racing machines vying for supremacy of the waves - some 43ft in length and packing up to 2,000hp - flying through the air and turning almost within touching distance!
The centrepiece of the Festival will be the U.I.M. Powerboat P1 British Grand Prix, with its international line up of teams, pilots and breathtaking racing machines. Two rounds of this high-speed World Championship event, with the first round Rally Race on Friday and the second round Endurance event on Sunday, will entertain the crowds gathered on the shorelines.
Back ashore, Cowes is certainly the place to be, with the wet and dry pits situated in the Cowes Yacht Haven and trade stalls, exhibition zone, and podium celebrations along the Parade, it provides the setting to soak up the festival atmosphere.
