The first school holidays of 2012 are nearly upon us – so to get you all ready for a week of fun we’ve pulled together a list of our Top 5 interesting activities taking place across the Isle of Wight this half term…
1. Jurassic Tastic
Join a Fossil Hunting expedition organised by Dinosaur Isle, Sandown, throughout half term. Taking place across the Island, pre-booking is advised on 01983 404344.
Find a story that suits you this hlf term at ne of the Island’s libraries. Try ‘I Love You’ storytime for 4-8 year olds at Ryde or Newport Library, on 13th & 14th. These are free events, no need to book but please turn up early to avoid disappoinment. Children must be supervised at all times. The event will include stories, games and a craft to make and take home. Or checkoutBig Bad Stories – a day of games/crafts and stories on Weds 15th at Freshwater Library.
On Thursday 16th February the West Wight Landscape Partnership in Freshwater are running two children’s craft sessions, creating mini landscapes and wall decorations, from 1-2.30pm and 3-4.30pm.
Join the Natural Wight and Wildlife Trust Mini Explorers Day for 8 to 13 years old at Bouldnor Forest, on 16th February from 10am to 3pm,pre-book on 01983 404344.
For a bit of history make sure you don’t miss the Winter Lecture on Norse/Viking Mythology at the Brading Roman Villa, on the 18th February at 2.30pm.
