Saving the day… Wightliving

As a new discount website on the Island launches, this is from Wightliving, in their words – Ed.

Discount websites may be de rigeur on the mainland, but now the Isle of Wight has one of its very own with This exciting new website has just launched and is aimed at both Islanders and visitors to reap the benefits of big savings.

Each week new voucher deals go live for a limited period on the best the Isle of Wight has to offer from discounted luxury accommodation to eating out, beauty, leisure, family entertainment, retail, sports and more.

The brains behind Wightliving are four Islanders, Fraser and Emily Lloyd Jones, Sarah Sims and Dom Hicklin who identified a massive gap in the local market that could boost the Island economy while supporting local business.

“ The key to Wightliving is spreading the word about quality businesses, quality produce and quality services. Try something out at a discount, then come back for more,” explains Fraser Jones. As the ex-manager of the Priory Bay Hotel he is understandably au fait with exacting standards.

“We felt being Islanders ourselves we could bring a personal touch to Wightliving that big, corporate multinationals cannot offer. We love the Island and want to offer real value for money for customers on quality services. It costs nothing to sign up to Wightliving as a business or customer user, so it’s a win all round and everyone benefits from increased business ” continues Jones.

For Wightliving members the benefits are bountiful. Savings, savings and more savings – and it couldn’t be simpler.  All you have to do register your email address.

“It’s free to join and we’ve made it as easy as possible for our members  – no lengthy forms to fill out with lots of personal information,” explains founder Sarah Sims. “It takes just a few seconds to register, then we do the rest by keeping the user regularly updated with new offers and when they go live. We’ll also be running regular competitions, and asking our members what exclusive deals they want us to run.”

But you better be quick. Hang around and you’re likely to miss out. Snapping up a deal is paramount as Wightliving offers are only available for a certain length of time and each discounted deal has limited numbers on offer. What’s great is the range of deals on offer as the chances are you’ll find something for everyone – from fab beauty treatments, great sporting fun such as paddle boarding or costeering to great family leisure or wonderful culinary experiences.

“We want to appeal to as many people as possible – and all age groups, as there’s lots of things to do and see on the Island. What better way than offering people a taste of the Island for less,” explains WL founder Emily Lloyd. “In these tough times many households will be looking for ways to live a full life but for less cost, without compromising on quality.”

“We help bring the customer to the business, so both benefit,” says WL founder Dom Hicklin. “Local business have the best chance to show off their goods and capture a wider audience which increases revenue, even during the quiet times. While the customer gets great a experience and less out of pocket.”

Just a quick look at the website reveals some impressive offers. We won’t mention any names, as we don’t want to spoil the surprises. But suffice to say the myIOW team is gearing up for some fun packed Wightliving months ahead. Just remember it takes seconds to sign up, so help spread the word by spreading the savings.
