Celebrity Chef Clarissa Dickson Wright will be making a special trip over to the Garlic Farm on June 14 to open the brand new Heritage Centre and the state of the art Education Centre.
Starting at around noon, Clarissa will be on hand to cut the ribbons and do a little bit of demonstrating in the art of garlic cuisine.
“I know Clarissa quite well,” said Garlic Farm owner Colin Boswell. “I’ve met her over the years at various shows and she’s very kindly agreed to come and open our new attractions here at the Garlic Farm.”
The Heritage Centre tells the story of the Garlic Farm, and the Merston valley through the ages culminating with the tale of how garlic started to be grown at the farm thirty years ago.
In the Education Centre visitors will be able to hear the story of garlic, from its origins in central Europe to its migration around the globe. When you visit the farm a talk in the Education Centre will be followed by a tractor and trailer tour around the farm and fields to see all the things you have heard about.
The opening ceremony on Tuesday June 14 with Clarissa Dickson Wright is likely to be a great celebration of all that is good about garlic with plenty of garlic flavoured food to tempt the tastebuds and wry humour from the star of Two Fat Ladies.
