Well, we’re into April and Easter is upon us quick as a flash! With the month starting straight into the two week school holidays it’s a great time to get out and about on the Isle of Wight and get into the seasons spirit. Checkout our two features Art Attack and Traditional Favourites for more details on Easter events happening across the Island.
April is a super arty month here on the Island as our Special – The Artists’ Island – shows, with lots of exhibitions on including at least three at Dimbola that must not be missed; the original Isle of Wight Festival from 1st – 30th, Carinthia West from 6th – 30th and Wight Surf History from 13-30th.
The biggest event happening this month is Isle of Arts taking place throughout Ventnor from 20th -22nd April. Now in its 2nd year, 2012 sees performances from the Island’s own Phil Jupitus, to Steve Harley and Sandy Toksvig, to name but a few.
IW Steam Railway is holding its annual Bustival on 15th April – great for those with a passion for all things vintage. The Spring Garden Show at Robin Hill promises fantastic garden displays and local food, arts and crafts on 28th and 29th April.
And for those who fancy something a little bit more energetic why not sign up for the Wight Mountain Enduro Six Hours of Hurt on 28th April or the End 2 End and Back Again 90kms off-road bike ride to raise money for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on 29th April.
